How To Wear...

BRIGHT COLOURS!

Break out of your comfort zone and try something new. Adding colour to wardrobe is a great start. Some people are to scared to wear a pop of colour because sometimes they don't know "how" to wear it or "what" to wear.

There are many ways to POP your wardrobe with some colour.

  1. Starting small is always a great step. Wearing some coloured accessories brightens up your look, makes your outfit more fun and trendy.
  2. Wearing a solid colour dress preferably black and pairing it with a bright colour tight. Sometimes certain people can pull this off but if you are one of them you go girl! I myself can't pull this look off but i add colour to my wardrobe in different ways.
  3.  Wearing a little pink dress is always fun to wear especially in the summer.
  4. If your not comfortable adding colour to your wardrobe, try adding colour to your makeup. Wearing a hot pink or red lip stick will stick make the same statement.
  5. Purchasing a tote in a bright blue is a MUST! Its a signature piece.
  6. A white trench coat is always a good way to look crisp.
  7. SHOES are always an easy way to add some colour into your wardrobe. Purchasing a neon pair of pumps would complete your wardrobe and leaving you with some colour.

How To Wear...

ANIMAL PRINT!

Animal print is sexy, fun and trendy if you know how to wear it the right way, especially because you can wear animal print every season!
You can wear an overwhelming print if you work in a creative field. If your work isnt so creative i would stick with the basic prints.
Here are some trendy, sexy and fun peices of wardrobe/ footwear that will dress up your work wardrobe...
  1. Wearing a animal print top is very trendy. Match it with straight or skinny black pants or even a black skirt. Match it with a plain black belt to go around your mid stomach area.
  2. Wearing a loose animal printed long skirt with a fitted blazer. Going with a long skirt rather than a shorter one is more safe as well as modest.
  3. Having a fitted animal print dress can be to sexy for your work field but if you match it with a solid colour cardagin. Don't always think fitted dresses are only for going out at night. They make a great dress code for work.
  4. Wearing a nice, loose animal print dress especially in different shades of colours, are really fun for work. Pair it up with a professional blazer as well as a sexy pump.
  5. Carrying an animal print handbag always gets everyone staring. Customers won't be seeing much of your handbag, but your employees most likely wont be able to keep their eyes off of it.
  6. Investing on a pair of printed shoes are always sexy for work. Pairing them with a straight leg cut black paints and a black blazer with compliment each other.
  7. Last but not least, purchasing an animal print scarf is a MUST! It completes every outfit you put on. If your planning on wearing a pair of tights and a cardagin to work, accessorizing with a printed scarf will dress up your outfit.
* Animal printed jewellery is always fashionable. If you like accessorizing I recommend purchasing printed bangles or rings.

Quick Tips

" Your appearance represents your store's/company's image and enhances reputation."

Tattoo's
Even though you love your inked skin, there are places and certain times where they should be covered up. At work being one of them. Some jobs allow you to display your tattoo's but if they don't you should cover them up. First impression is always a big role on  how people view you as, but your appearance is a big factor.

I myself don't really care if my employees have their tattoo's showing, but i know my manager as well as head office employee's mind. It also depends on the size of the tattoo and what the picture is. At my retail job i work with an employee that has small heart tattooed on her foot and another employee has a cross on her wrist.  Something small is okay, but if its big it needs to be covered up. Your appearance is everything so when customers see big tattoo's on your for arm or something on your calf, they might take the wrong impression of your personality. Your job also plays a big part on whether tattoo's should be covered or not. Working some where that is very professional should always be covered up (bank, hospital, etc.).

Below are some key tips on how to cover up your tattoo's...

Piercings
Piercings are also another ify factor when it comes to working. Like tattoo's, some jobs dont mind piercings but it depends on how many and where they are located. Having too many piercings on your face might be a major factor on why you dont get hired for the job position. If you are willing to remove your piercings for work and putting them back in for your own time that is suitable.

The above list varies on your job. Some companies might allow you to wear some of the “No way” items. The lists are just to give you a feel of what is and what is not considered acceptable attire for work. A good rule of thumb - when in doubt, don’t. If you have to ask, then the answer will most likely be NO.

Timely.Appropriate.Professional

Presenting a professional image requires more than simply paying attention to what you wear. A well-groomed appearance is an essential part of making a great first impression.

Welcoming customers and co-workers with a big smile and a happy hello is just not enough. The first impression we make is our appearance, and sometimes the wrong look can make customers and co-workers look the other way.

The majority of job positions require their “uniform” in more of a professional attitude. Your appearance represents your store or companies image and enriches their reputation. We must welcome customers as well as employees with a fashion forward sense of style and provide current definitions of the season’s hottest looks. Save glamorous looks for the after work.

The T.A.P Policy – Timely, Appropriate, Professional – is based on the principle that wearing your own clothes to work allows you to express your own sense of personal style.

The T.A.P. Policy offers you guidelines for dressing at work in a manner that is comfortable for you and appropriate for Your Company…

TIMELY

1.      Occurring at a suitable time; seasonable

 APPROPRIATE

1.      Suitable for fitting for a particular purpose, occasion, person etc.

PROFESSIONAL

1.      Appropriate to a profession

The T.A.P. Policy is really quite simple and very easy to remember … wear current, timely apparel … dress appropriately … appear and behave professionally!
